The Environmental Health Department is charged with the responsibility of taking care of the surroundings of the hospital, and maintaining the aesthetic value of the environment.

It is headed by Mr. GAFAR, Director, Environmental Services.

The department’s functions are as follows:-

• Cleaning of the surroundings of the hospital
• Regular washing and cleaning of wards, bathrooms, and toilets
• Sweeping of the floor of the whole hospital with the use of acceptable toiletries and cleaning materials
• Monitoring of refuse to the temporary disposal site and finally to the permanent site
• Maintaining acceptable grass, weed, flower levels, and maintenance
• Regular cleaning of drainage in the hospital
• Monitoring of segregation of medical waste in the hospital
• Fumigation and deratisation of hospital (pest control)
• Dislodging of filled up septic tank in the hospital
